A Tax Audit is a statutory examination mandated by the Income Tax Department under Section 44AB of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Its primary objective is to verify that a taxpayer has properly maintained books of accounts, complied with various provisions of income tax law, and accurately reported income, deductions, and tax liabilities. Our Chartered Accountants perform detailed examinations of commercial accounts to identify tax disallowances, reconcile TDS/TCS withholdings, and ensure timely e-filing before statutory deadlines.
Preparation & Examination of Form 3CA / 3CB and Form 3CD
We systematically examine all 44 clauses of Form 3CD, verifying method of accounting, valuation of inventory (Section 145A), depreciation calculations (Section 32), payments to specified persons (Section 40A(2)(b)), cash transactions exceeding thresholds (Section 40A(3) and Section 269ST), brought forward losses, and related-party transactions. We issue Form 3CA for corporate entities and Form 3CB for non-corporate businesses.
Statutory Deductions & TDS / TCS Reconciliation
Under Chapter XVII-B, failure to deduct or deposit TDS results in significant disallowances under Section 40(a)(ia). Our tax audit procedures include exhaustive reconciliation between books of accounts, GSTR-2B/3B, and Form 26AS/AIS/TIS to ensure all withholding obligations and statutory dues are correctly remitted before the return filing due date.
E-Filing on Income Tax Portal with UDIN Verification
The Tax Audit Report must be electronically uploaded by the practicing Chartered Accountant on the official Income Tax e-filing portal and accepted by the taxpayer before the prescribed due date (typically 30th September or 31st October of the assessment year). Every report uploaded is authenticated with a system-generated UDIN.
